Rawhide Rescue is just one of 35,000+ groups listed by members at iGive. Here's a little more detail on them, as provided by members or the organization itself:
Rawhide Rescue is an all-volunteer federally qualified 501 (c) 3 non-profit animal rescue organization whose primary mission is to rescue cats and dogs regardless of their breed, age, or medical needs when they have "fallen through the cracks" in the animal sheltering system due to the overwhelming numbers of homeless animals in the communities we serve.
Rawhide Rescue was founded in 2001 when its organizers recognized that life on the streets is as hard as it gets, especially for the countless lost, helpless, and abandoned animals that struggle for food, shelter, and love to sustain them. Some find their way to local animal shelters where overcrowded conditions quickly lead to euthanasia or where the more fragile pets find it too hard to cope, mentally or physically. Others face worse fates.
Rawhide Rescue is there to make a difference by providing an urgently needed service for as many animals as they can through our foster-only organization.
Rawhide Rescue, and their devoted volunteer team of individuals with extensive animal rescue experience, work through a network of volunteer foster homes. Animals rescued from the streets or from overcrowded animal shelters are placed in appropriate foster homes where they receive needed veterinary care and socialization, are promoted to the widest potential adoptive audience through Petfinder.com (www.rawhide.petfinder.org) and the most suitable adoptive homes are sought. We do reference checks and home visits to ensure the best possible homes for our animals. We match the needs of the animals with potential adopters. We stay in touch with our Alumni through emails and phone calls.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
Rawhide Rescue's primary needs are for responsible foster homes for pets in need of shelter and love. But none of this is possible without adequate financial resources to cover the costs of the veterinary and other daily care needs for the animals in our foster homes. As we do not turn animals away that may need extensive medical care, treatment, or surgery, our bills often far exceed the modest adoption fees that we request when adopting out an animal and that covers basic care and spaying/neutering.
Your help is badly needed and iGive is one way you can help.
